About Beau Rivage

Beau Rivage is a script typeface in the manner of broad-pen calligraphy. Downstrokes are dark and upstrokes fine, the letters slant to the right, and the lowercase is narrow and closely set so that words form a compact, joined line. Capitals in the specimen open with a curled entry stroke and are far wider than the lowercase. The font has one Regular style and is not a variable font. Its 1,051 glyphs serve 586 encoded characters; the surplus holds the stylistic sets mentioned in the official description, which swap in ornamental capitals and more flourished lowercase letters. Coverage extends over Latin, Latin Extended and Vietnamese. Robert Leuschke is the designer, The Beau Rivage Project Authors hold the copyright, and the license is the SIL Open Font License 1.1.

Where Beau Rivage works

Invitations to formal events
The dark-and-light pen contrast gives names and the opening line of an invitation a ceremonial tone.
Wine lists and menu headings
Narrow joined lowercase sets a course title or a house name in little width.
Wordmarks for boutiques and hotels
A stylistic set with ornamental capitals changes the initial without redrawing the word.
Certificates and awards
A recipient's name in Beau Rivage contrasts with the plain text around it.
Greeting card phrases
Alternate flourished lowercase letters let the last letter of a short greeting end in a swash.
