About Sofia

Sofia is a script typeface that stands upright, without the slant most scripts have. In the specimen its strokes keep a nearly even thickness and end in rounded tips. Lowercase letters link through short exit strokes, v and w are built from small loops, and f drops well below the baseline. Capitals such as A, M, N and T begin with a curl, and the figures are drawn in the same hand, with a loop in 2 and 4. The official description mentions unconventional ligatures and calls the face friendly. Sofia has one static Regular style with 231 glyphs in a Latin character set, which includes the letters for English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and the Nordic languages. There is no bold or italic. The record credits LatinoType; the name table names Paula Nazal and Daniel Hernández.

Where Sofia works

Invitations and greeting cards
The joined, upright lowercase reads as neat handwriting for names and short messages.
Labels and packaging
Even stroke thickness and rounded tips hold up on jars, tags and small product labels.
Wordmarks for cafés and shops
Curled capitals followed by linked lowercase make a single name work as a logo line.
Short headings beside plain text
One or two words in Sofia can head a menu or section while a plain family carries the details.
