About Leckerli One

Leckerli One is a script typeface with thick, rounded strokes that look painted with a loaded brush. The lowercase letters lean to the right and join one another along the baseline, while capitals such as L and O begin with loops. Stroke thickness changes a little from letter to letter, which keeps the heavy shapes from looking mechanical, and the numerals and punctuation in the specimen follow the same slant. The official description presents the face as a fat display script that can also carry shorter texts. The family is a single Regular style: despite its dark colour, the file is registered at weight 400, and there is no lighter cut or italic. The 217 glyphs cover the basic Latin character set, enough for English and Western European languages such as German, French and Spanish. Gesine Todt designed Leckerli One, and it is published under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.

Where Leckerli One works

Food and drink packaging
Thick, rounded brush strokes keep a product name readable on a small label or lid.
Logos for cafés and small shops
Joined lowercase letters and looped capitals turn a single word into a hand-painted wordmark.
Stickers, badges and T-shirt prints
The heavy strokes have no thin parts that could break up when printed small or cut from vinyl.
Headings on party and event graphics
A short line in Leckerli One carries a cheerful tone that the official description itself associates with display fun.
