Fontdiner Swanky is a display typeface in a mid-century cartoon style. Font Diner's own description calls it a retro Latin face with sharp serifs and ties it to the Atomic Age. In the specimen each letter leans its own way, capitals and lowercase vary in size, and the baseline jumps from character to character. Serifs are long spikes: the capital A stands on two pointed feet, and T, Z and E end in wedges. The strokes are heavy, with clear contrast between thick stems and thin joins, and the lowercase g and y end in fat curled tails. The numerals overlap slightly, like hand-cut lettering. The family is one Regular style with 231 glyphs covering basic Latin. It is not a variable font, and its license is Apache 2.0.
