Atma is a display family for Bengali and Latin with a light-hearted, hand-drawn character. The official notes say the two scripts were drawn side by side in a studio collaboration. In the Latin shown in the specimen, letters lean at slightly different angles, stems taper and swell like brush strokes, the A splays outward, and the baseline is uneven on purpose; the heavier weights turn the same shapes into thick, bouncy forms. The family has five weights (Light, Regular, Medium, SemiBold and Bold) as separate static files, with no italics, and is not a variable font. Each font holds 749 glyphs for Bengali, Latin and Latin Extended. Black Foundry, based in Paris, leads the project. Sources differ on the individuals: the name table lists Hornus, Vincens, Minet and Riccardo Olocco, while the official notes replace Olocco with Roxane Gataud. Atma is published under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
