About Rancho

Rancho is a brush script typeface. Its strokes swell and taper as if made with a loaded sign-painter's brush, the letters lean slightly forward, and the lowercase sits close together so that neighbouring letters touch or nearly join. The capitals are narrow and tall with simple forms, without the loops and flourishes of formal scripts; in the specimen they remain readable even when set in a row. Stroke ends are rounded or cut at an angle, and the figures share the same heavy brush rhythm. The official description is one line long and presents Rancho as a relaxed script equally suited to a barn and a country club. Credits differ by source: Google Fonts lists Sideshow as the designer, while the name table and copyright in the font name Font Diner, Inc. A single Regular style is available. Its 227 glyphs cover Western European Latin.

Where Rancho works

Farm shop and market signs
Thick brush strokes read from a distance and look painted by hand.
Restaurant menus
Section headings such as starters and grills take the brush lettering while a plain face lists the dishes.
Food and drink labels
Narrow capitals and tight lowercase fit a product name on a small label.
Flyers for fairs and barbecues
The informal slant and heavy weight set a relaxed tone for event titles.
Short headlines on social media
One heavy style is enough for a few words over a photo.
