About Oleo Script Swash Caps

Oleo Script Swash Caps is a script typeface whose letters lean forward and end in short exit strokes but are not truly joined. Strokes swell and taper like a round brush, and the lowercase stays upright enough to read quickly. What separates it from its sister family Oleo Script is the capital set: O closes with a loop, S and C begin with curls, H and K reach out with a swash on the left, and Q and L sweep under the baseline. The family has two weights, Regular 400 and Bold 700, with no italic, and neither is variable. Each file holds 235 glyphs in the basic Latin subset. Soytutype describes the design as suited to captions, headlines, packaging, cards and book jackets.

Where Oleo Script Swash Caps works

Product labels
A brand or flavour name starting with a swash capital fills a label with one word; Bold holds on coloured backgrounds.
Greeting cards and invitations
The looped capitals open a name or greeting, and the unjoined lowercase keeps the rest of the line easy to read.
Cafe menus and signs
Section titles such as Breakfast or Desserts get a decorative initial while Regular and Bold separate two levels of heading.
Book jackets and posters
Short titles in mixed case show one swash capital per word, the setting the capitals are drawn for.
