Kameron is a variable font: the download holds the whole weight range in one file, and the named weights above are positions on that range.
Kameron is a slab serif family whose letters carry flat, rectangular serifs nearly as thick as the stems. According to the official notes, Vernon Adams arrived at it by reworking and merging several older slab and Egyptian designs dating from the first half and the middle of the twentieth century. In the specimen the letters are wide and evenly weighted, with round bowls, ball-shaped ends on a, c and r, and an ampersand drawn as a joined E and t. The family is a variable font with one axis, weight, from 400 to 700, and four named weights: Regular, Medium, SemiBold and Bold. There is no italic. Its 408 glyphs cover the Latin and Latin Extended character sets. A September 2023 update enlarged the glyph set and introduced the variable version. Kameron is published under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
