Josefin Slab is a slab serif typeface built on the same geometric skeleton as Josefin Sans. Thin, unbracketed slabs sit on round, compass-like letters; the lowercase is short compared with the capitals, and the e has a tilted bar. Santiago Orozco writes that the design follows the 1930s fashion for geometric typefaces and borrows some typewriter attributes, and that he gave special care to the diacritics in keeping with a Scandinavian idea: the slope of the e was decided by the shape of the æ. The family is a variable font with a weight axis from 100 to 700, giving seven weights from Thin to Bold, each with an italic, 14 styles in all. The character set is small: 215 glyphs in the Latin subset, enough for English, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch and the Nordic languages.

Suggestions come from simple rules on the records: a contrasting classification and enough weights to carry body text. They are a starting point, not a verdict.
Download the family and host the files on your own site, then declare them in CSS. Please do not link to the files on trendhub.net: preview files here are subsets and their addresses change.
