Iceberg

A slim monolinear display face built from straight strokes and 45-degree cuts, like letters folded from tape.

Display 1 style by Cyreal OFL

Iceberg is a slim, condensed display typeface drawn by Victor Kharyk and published by Cyreal. Its strokes keep one thickness and turn through 45-degree cuts instead of curves. Iceberg has a single Regular style with 220 glyphs in the basic Latin set, is released under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, and suits headings at medium to large sizes.

About Iceberg

Iceberg is a condensed decorative typeface in which every letter is assembled from straight strokes of one thickness. Where another design would draw a curve, Iceberg clips the corner at 45 degrees, so the bowls of a, e and g become faceted boxes, an effect the official notes compare to folded tape. Ascenders and descenders are long, most characters occupy a similar width, and the repeated modules give a line a regular vertical beat. The family consists of one Regular style and is not a variable font. Its 220 glyphs cover the basic Latin set, enough for English, German, Spanish, Italian and the Nordic languages; French is covered except for the rare capital Ÿ. The name table credits Victor Kharyk as designer and Cyreal as manufacturer, and the license is the SIL Open Font License 1.1.

Where Iceberg works

Game and sci-fi titles
Faceted bowls and clipped corners give a title an engineered, angular look without any added effects.
Headlines in narrow columns
The slim letter width lets a long word sit on one line where a wider face would break.
Wordmarks
Modular strokes of one thickness turn a short name into an even pattern of verticals and diagonals.
Counters and scoreboards
Numerals are built from the same narrow boxes as the letters, so figures and labels line up in one rhythm.
