About Gantari

Gantari is a sans serif family with a geometric touch. The official notes stress that it is not purely geometric: the proportions were tuned so that the characters agree with one another, and although the design was first drawn for large sizes, it is said to read well small too. In the specimen the round letters are close to circles, the a is a two-storey form, stroke endings are cut flat, and the lowercase is tall enough to stay clear in the thin weights. The family is a variable font with one axis, weight, from 100 to 900. Nine named weights from Thin to Black come upright and italic, 18 styles in total. Its 373 glyphs cover the Latin and Latin Extended character sets. The designer credit is Lafontype, and the name table names Anugrah Pasau. Gantari is published under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.

Where Gantari works

Website headings
Gantari was first drawn for large sizes, where its near-circular bowls and flat stroke endings are most visible.
Interface text
A tall lowercase and nine weights give labels, buttons and menus a clear hierarchy from one family.
Body text with emphasis
Regular and its italic set paragraphs, with SemiBold or Bold for terms that need to stand out.
Brand systems
The range from Thin 100 to Black 900 covers a light wordmark, a heavy campaign line and everything in between.
