Actor is a sans serif typeface with open, lightly modulated letters and numerals that rise and fall like lowercase. The official notes explain that it started as a diploma thesis at Aachen University of Applied Sciences, in a type design course whose aim was to study writing as a carrier of information, and that it was drawn entirely digitally. The same notes point out its strong x-height, which calls for generous line spacing, and its old-style figures: the 6 and 9 are tenser than usual, the 8 has shifted interior shapes and the 7 curves slightly to the left. All of this is visible in the specimen. Thomas Junold is the designer. The family is one Regular style, with no bold or italic. Its 237 glyphs stay within the Latin subset, enough for Western European languages and Estonian.

Download the family and host the files on your own site, then declare them in CSS. Please do not link to the files on trendhub.net: preview files here are subsets and their addresses change.
