Oranienbaum is a serif typeface with strong contrast between thick vertical stems and very thin hairlines. In the specimen the letters are narrow and upright, the serifs are flat hairlines set at right angles to the stems, and letters such as a, c, f and r finish in round ball terminals. The official notes describe a modern Antiqua built on classical models and typical of faces from the first quarter of the twentieth century: marked serifs, contrasting geometry, straight angles played against flowing curves. Oranienbaum is one Regular 400 file with no italic or bold, and it is not a variable font. Its 416 glyphs cover Latin, Latin Extended and Cyrillic, including the letters for Russian, Ukrainian and Bulgarian. Oleg Pospelov was the main designer, and Jovanny Lemonad served as art director, engineer and publisher. The license is the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
