What is Nylas?
Nylas is an API platform that lets software products read and write their users' email, calendar and contact data without building a separate integration for each provider. One schema covers Gmail, Microsoft Graph, Exchange, iCloud calendars and generic IMAP servers, and Nylas manages the OAuth flows and tokens behind it. The calendar side includes availability lookups, an embeddable Scheduler and virtual calendars for rooms or equipment. Notetaker sends a managed bot into Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Zoom calls and returns recordings, speaker-labelled transcripts, summaries and action items through webhooks. Agent Accounts provision a hosted mailbox and calendar for an AI agent so it can send, receive and book under its own address. An MCP server exposes the same capabilities to clients such as Claude Code and Cursor. A free developer plan is available.
Key Features
Email and Contacts API
Sends, receives, threads and parses messages across providers through one normalised JSON format, with two-way sync.
Calendar API and Scheduler
Reads and writes events, checks availability and offers booking components that can be embedded and white-labelled.
Notetaker API
Joins video meetings with a bot and delivers the recording, transcript, summary and action items to your application.
Agent Accounts
Creates a real inbox and calendar for an AI agent with a single API call, on a domain your application controls.
Managed Authentication
Handles Google and Microsoft OAuth, token storage and provider differences, with hosted or bring-your-own auth.
MCP Server and SDKs
Gives MCP clients typed tools covering mail, calendars, contacts and the Notetaker, alongside SDKs for several languages.
