Sarala is a humanist sans serif family covering the Devanagari and Latin scripts. The official notes say it builds on Telex, an earlier Latin text sans, and was planned as a web font that reads comfortably at ordinary text sizes; it started from shapes fitted to the pixel grid and grew into a general-purpose face with low contrast, open counters and wide proportions. The specimen agrees: strokes are nearly even, the openings of a, c and e are wide, and the letters are generously broad. Two weights are provided, Regular 400 and Bold 700, without italics, and the family is not a variable font. Its 822 glyphs cover Devanagari along with Latin and Latin Extended. The notes credit two designers, Andrés Torresi and Carolina Giovagnoli, working for HT Fonts; the designer field lists HT Fonts and Andres Torresi. Sarala is published under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
Latin and Latin Extended characters in the preview subset; the complete family has 822 glyphs.
The family contains the core letters these languages are written with:
Writing systems with glyphs in the family besides Latin: Devanagari. These are listed as scripts, not as a promise for every language written in them.
Character sets found in the files: devanagari, latin, latin-ext. The language list is a check of required letters against the font, not a promise of typographic quality in each language.

Suggestions come from simple rules on the records: a contrasting classification and enough weights to carry body text. They are a starting point, not a verdict.
Download the family and host the files on your own site, then declare them in CSS. Please do not link to the files on trendhub.net: preview files here are subsets and their addresses change.
