Russo One is a display sans serif in one heavy style. In the specimen the curves are squared off: O, D and the bowls of a, b and e are rounded rectangles, strokes are thick and even, the letters are wide, and stroke ends are cut flat. The designer's note says the name means Russian and that the face was meant to show a varied, modern side of Russian culture, and it names headlines and logotypes as the purpose. There is no italic, and Russo One is not a variable font. Its 413 glyphs are organised in Latin, Latin Extended and Cyrillic subsets; the official notes mention Cyrillic, Baltic, Turkish and Central European coverage. Jovanny Lemonad is the designer, and Russo One is published under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
