Ruda is a sans serif typeface that began with one job in mind: text on product labels. Mariela Monsalve and Angelina Sanchez gave it an unusually tall x-height, capitals that stand only a little higher than the lowercase, and open shapes. In the specimen the letters are slightly narrow, the strokes are even and the lowercase nearly fills the line. The family is variable on one axis, weight, from 400 to 900, with six named weights: Regular, Medium, SemiBold, Bold, ExtraBold and Black. The official notes say it was rebuilt as a variable font in February 2020. There is no italic. The single variable file holds 625 glyphs across Latin, Latin Extended, Cyrillic and Vietnamese character sets, which covers Russian, Ukrainian and Bulgarian as well as languages such as Turkish, Polish and Vietnamese.
Latin and Latin Extended characters in the preview subset; the complete family has 625 glyphs.
The family contains the core letters these languages are written with:
Writing systems with glyphs in the family besides Latin: Cyrillic. These are listed as scripts, not as a promise for every language written in them.
Character sets found in the files: cyrillic, latin, latin-ext, vietnamese. The language list is a check of required letters against the font, not a promise of typographic quality in each language.

Suggestions come from simple rules on the records: a contrasting classification and enough weights to carry body text. They are a starting point, not a verdict.
Download the family and host the files on your own site, then declare them in CSS. Please do not link to the files on trendhub.net: preview files here are subsets and their addresses change.
