Prata is a Didone typeface: a serif design with vertical stress and an abrupt change from thick stems to hairline strokes. Teardrop terminals finish letters such as a, c, f, r and y, and small triangular serifs sit on the thin strokes, giving them a firm end. The curves are soft and full, which sets up a tension with the sharp details. Because the hairlines are so thin, the official notes place the design at display sizes. Ivan Petrov drew Prata for Cyreal. It exists in one Regular style with no italic or bold, and holds 555 glyphs in the latin, cyrillic, cyrillic-ext and vietnamese subsets; there is no latin-ext subset, so several Central European languages are not complete. The font was added to Google Fonts in 2011 and is licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
Latin and Latin Extended characters in the preview subset; the complete family has 555 glyphs.
The family contains the core letters these languages are written with:
Rarely used letters that are not in the font: French Ÿ.
Writing systems with glyphs in the family besides Latin: Cyrillic. These are listed as scripts, not as a promise for every language written in them.
Character sets found in the files: cyrillic, cyrillic-ext, latin, vietnamese. The language list is a check of required letters against the font, not a promise of typographic quality in each language.
