About Julee

Julee is a handwriting face in which the letters are written separately but keep the movement of cursive. Stems bow slightly and end in pointed tips, crossbars taper, and curves such as the tail of J, Q and y swing out and sharpen. The official description compares the effect to strokes made with a metallic, bevel-edged point. In spite of the lively line, proportions are orderly: capitals share an even height, the lowercase has a medium x-height, and the numerals line up with the capitals, which keeps a line of text balanced. The family has one Regular style, with a slight forward lean, and is not a variable font. Its 433 glyphs cover Latin and Latin Extended; an update widened the glyph set and added fractions. Julián Tunni is the designer.

Where Julee works

Recipe cards and menus
Separate letters stay readable in ingredient lists while the tapered strokes keep a handwritten tone; fractions are included for quantities.
Greeting cards
A cursive-like hand without joins sets a message of a few lines more legibly than a connected script.
Craft and food packaging
Pointed, calligraphic strokes suggest a hand-lettered label for jams, soaps or tea.
Informal headings
Even capital height lets Julee carry short titles in mixed case or capitals.
