About Delicious Handrawn

Delicious Handrawn is a handwriting font with tall, narrow, unconnected letters and round stroke ends, as if written with a soft marker. Capitals stand almost twice as high as the small lowercase, and strokes swell and thin slightly, so words keep an uneven, hand-made rhythm; the t, y and j swing below or above their neighbours. According to the official notes, Agung Rohmat based the design on his own handwriting and drew every glyph on an iPad in the Procreate app, testing many versions before settling on the shapes. The family is a single Regular style and is not a variable font. Its 358 glyphs cover the Latin and Latin Extended character sets, including the letters used in Turkish, Polish and Czech. It is published under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.

Where Delicious Handrawn works

Menus and specials boards
Narrow letters fit dish names into tight columns and keep the look of a hand-written board.
Food and craft packaging
The marker-like strokes suit a product name or a short note on jars, bags and tags.
Quotes for social posts
A sentence or two in the tall capitals and small lowercase reads as a personal note in a square graphic.
Annotations on slides and photos
Short labels that look written by hand stand apart from typeset text on diagrams and pictures.

Things to know

One style
There is only Regular 400; no bold or italic is supplied.
Letters do not join
This is print-style handwriting: each letter stands alone rather than linking as in a cursive script.
Small lowercase
The lowercase is short compared with the capitals, so text needs a larger size than a typical sans to stay readable.
