Cookie is a script typeface that Ania Kruk based on brush calligraphy. The lowercase slants forward and joins letter to letter, with moderate contrast between thick downstrokes and thinner connecting strokes; the capitals add loops and curled entry strokes, as the C, K and L of the specimen show. The x-height is small beside the tall looped ascenders of b, d, h, k and l. The official description ties the style to advertisements and pin-ups of the 1950s and says the design was kept legible instead of heavily decorated. Cookie has a single style, Regular 400, in one static file of 256 glyphs. Only the Latin subset is included, so coverage centres on Western European languages plus Polish. Cookie was added to Google Fonts in 2011 and is published under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
