Bungee is a display typeface built around the look of city shop signs, where lettering often has to run down a narrow strip instead of across. David Jonathan Ross drew the Latin alphabet so that it can be stacked vertically as well as set in a horizontal line. In the specimen the letters are very heavy and wide, close to square in proportion, with softly rounded outer corners and small rectangular counters; the lowercase keys give the same capitals. Bungee has one Regular style and is not a variable font, but it is the base of a display superfamily whose other members, Hairline, Inline, Outline and Shade, are separate families. The font holds 1,053 glyphs for Latin, Latin Extended and Vietnamese. According to the official notes, backing from Google and The Font Bureau made the open release possible. The license is the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
