Type over the sample to test your own words. The preview loads a Latin subset of Source Code Pro; the download contains the complete files.
Source Code Pro is a variable font: the download holds the whole weight range in one file per style, and the named weights above are positions on that range.
Source Code Pro is a monospaced family adapted from Source Sans after a request for a version suited to coding applications. It keeps the vertical proportions and general shapes of the sans but gives every glyph the same width in every weight. In the specimen the zero has a dot in its centre, the lowercase l bends at the foot and the i and j carry slab-like serifs, which separates characters that are easily confused in code. The family is a variable font with a weight axis from 200 to 900: eight named weights, ExtraLight to Black, each with an italic. The fonts hold 1,556 glyphs; the official notes say the 2019 update brought Greek, Cyrillic, Vietnamese and the italic styles. Paul D. Hunt designed the family, the name table also credits Teo Tuominen, and Adobe publishes it under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
Latin and Latin Extended characters in the preview subset; the complete family has 1,556 glyphs.
The family contains the core letters these languages are written with:
Writing systems with glyphs in the family besides Latin: Cyrillic, Greek. These are listed as scripts, not as a promise for every language written in them.
Character sets found in the files: cyrillic, cyrillic-ext, greek, latin, latin-ext, vietnamese. The language list is a check of required letters against the font, not a promise of typographic quality in each language.

Suggestions come from simple rules on the records: a contrasting classification and enough weights to carry body text. They are a starting point, not a verdict.
Download the family and host the files on your own site, then declare them in CSS. Please do not link to the files on trendhub.net: preview files here are subsets and their addresses change.
