Patrick Hand is a handwriting font drawn from the designer's own hand. The specimen shows upright, unjoined letters written as if with a round-tipped marker: the stroke is even, the ends are rounded, the letters are narrow and the lines wobble slightly. Capitals are simple printed forms, and the numerals include a 7 with a crossbar. The family has a single Regular style and is not a variable font. According to the official notes, the font's OpenType features provide ligatures, small caps and old-style figures, and the font also holds a few decorative glyphs such as heavy quotation marks and a floral heart. A January 2013 update added more European languages and Vietnamese, bringing the font to 728 glyphs. A Small Caps sister family is published separately. Patrick Wagesreiter is the designer and copyright holder.
