About Itim

Itim is a handwriting typeface that covers Thai and Latin in one informal design. In the specimen the Latin letters are upright and unconnected, drawn with a round-tipped stroke of even thickness; the capital I carries serifs and several lowercase letters end in small tails, the semi-serif trait named in the official notes, while the Thai is a looped form. According to those notes the font holds alternate glyphs in two stylistic sets, together with OpenType features that swap forms so the text resembles real writing; early feature work is credited to Pablo Impallari. The family has one Regular style and is not a variable font. Its 945 glyphs cover Thai together with Latin, Latin Extended and Vietnamese. Cadson Demak leads the project, and the font's name table names Suppakit Chalermlarp as designer. Itim is published under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.

Where Itim works

Informal Thai and Latin headings
Both scripts are drawn with the same round-tipped stroke, so a bilingual heading keeps one handwriting.
Children's books and worksheets
Upright, separate letters with soft ends are easy to pick out, and the alternates keep repeated letters from looking stamped.
Greeting cards and notes
A short message in Itim looks written with a felt pen, with small tails on the lowercase.
Cafe menus and social posts
The 945 glyphs include Thai, Latin and Vietnamese characters for menus and captions in more than one language.
