IM Fell English SC is a serif typeface that sets small capitals in place of lowercase letters. Its outlines are intentionally irregular: in the specimen the edges wobble, serifs differ from letter to letter, and strokes thicken unevenly, reproducing the impression of worn metal type on paper instead of a cleaned-up drawing. Figures are old-style, and the capital Q and R end in long tails. The official text is a history of the Fell Types: John Fell, Dean of Christ Church and Bishop of Oxford, gathered types from France, Holland and Germany for a learned press from 1668 onwards, employed Peter de Walpergen as his type-founder, and on his death in 1686 left the collection to the University of Oxford. Igino Marini is the designer of this digital font. One Regular style is supplied, with 357 glyphs that include the letters for Polish, Czech, Turkish and Romanian.
