About Fugaz One

Fugaz One is a display sans serif with a built-in forward slant and thick, low-contrast strokes. Its curves are drawn as rounded rectangles, visible in the O, the zero and the bowls of b, d and p, while several lowercase letters follow handwriting: the f drops below the baseline, the a is single-storey, and v and w are rounded at the base. The official description points to this mix of geometric construction and gestural detail. The family consists of one file, Regular 400. There is no upright companion and no lighter cut, and Fugaz One is not a variable font. Its 228 glyphs cover the Latin subset, with the letters needed for Western European languages. The design is credited to LatinoType, the name table lists Daniel Hernandez as designer, and the license is the SIL Open Font License 1.1.

Where Fugaz One works

Sports and event graphics
The forward slant is part of every letter, so team names, scores and dates read as if in motion without extra styling.
Poster headlines
Thick strokes and tight counters hold a few words at large size against photographs or flat colour.
Logos and wordmarks
The descending f and the squared bowls give a short name a recognisable outline.
Video thumbnails and banners
The heavy slanted numerals and capitals stay legible when a title is reduced to a small preview image.
