Fragment Mono is a monospaced typeface for programming in the neo-grotesque manner: strokes are even, terminals are cut horizontally, and curves are tight and closed. Wei Huang built it by adapting Nimbus Sans, a sans serif by URW Design Studio, to a fixed character width and extending its character set. The changes that code requires are visible in the specimen: the zero carries a slash, the lowercase l has a curved foot, i and j have horizontal bars, and r stands on a base stroke so that narrow letters fill their cell. Punctuation and brackets are large. The family consists of Regular 400 and its italic, two styles, with no bold, and it is not a variable font. The 707 glyphs cover Latin and Latin Extended. Fragment Mono is published under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, and the copyright notice names The Fragment-Mono Project Authors.

Download the family and host the files on your own site, then declare them in CSS. Please do not link to the files on trendhub.net: preview files here are subsets and their addresses change.
