Fira Code is a variable font: the download holds the whole weight range in one file, and the named weights above are positions on that range.
Fira Code is a monospaced typeface built on Fira Mono with an added set of programming ligatures. Sequences such as an arrow, a less-than-or-equal sign or an assignment operator are drawn as one joined symbol, and for frequent pairs like two dots or two slashes the ligatures correct the spacing. This is a rendering feature only: the underlying text stays ordinary ASCII characters. The specimen shows a zero with an interior mark, a serifed i, and an l and 1 that are easy to tell apart. Fira Code is a variable font with a weight axis from 300 to 700 and five named weights, Light to Bold; it has no italic. Its 1,846 glyphs cover Latin, Cyrillic, Greek and a symbols subset. Character sets found in the files: cyrillic, cyrillic-ext, greek, greek-ext, latin, latin-ext, symbols2. The language list is a check of required letters against the font, not a promise of typographic quality in each language.

Suggestions come from simple rules on the records: a contrasting classification and enough weights to carry body text. They are a starting point, not a verdict.
Download the family and host the files on your own site, then declare them in CSS. Please do not link to the files on trendhub.net: preview files here are subsets and their addresses change.
