About Aclonica

Aclonica is a heavy display sans serif with a few deliberately unusual letters. In the specimen the capital A is a round arch whose right leg drops below the baseline, and the lowercase n repeats that descending leg. Strokes thin slightly where curves meet stems, and the lowercase is tall against the capitals, which keeps words compact and readable in spite of the stylised forms. The official notes describe a modern sans with a slight deco and techno character. Aclonica is a single Regular 400 file; it has no italic or bold and is not a variable font. Its 371 glyphs cover Latin and Latin Extended, including the letters for Turkish, Polish, Czech and Hungarian. The font is credited to Astigmatic, and the copyright notice names Brian J. Bonislawsky. It is licensed under Apache 2.0, not the Open Font License.

Where Aclonica works

Wordmarks and logos
The arched A and tailed n make a name recognisable from two or three letters, without extra graphics.
Game, film and event titles
Heavy strokes with a deco and techno character suit a title card or a ticket header.
Packaging headlines
A tall x-height keeps a product name legible on a small label even in this heavy weight.
Social media graphics
Short phrases set large show the unusual letterforms; one weight is enough for a single line of display text.
