## About Qwigley

Qwigley is a script typeface with the look of fast writing with a pointed pen. The letters lean steeply to the right, strokes taper from thin hairlines to slightly fuller curves, and the lowercase is very small compared with the capitals, which stretch into long horizontal sweeps; in the specimen the Q and the y and g of the sample word throw loops far below the baseline. Some forms are unconventional, a point the official notes make when they call the design contemporary. The family has one Regular style and is not a variable font. It holds 472 glyphs for the Latin, Latin Extended and Vietnamese character sets. Robert Leuschke is credited as designer, the copyright notice names The Qwigley Project Authors, and the font is published under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.

## Where it works

- **Signature-style logos**: The quick, tapered line makes a first name or a studio name look signed by hand.
- **Invitation headings**: Sweeping capitals lead a pair of names across the top of a card set at a large size.
- **Beauty and fashion labels**: Hairline strokes and a steep slant give a light accent word on packaging or a lookbook.
- **Photo overlays**: One or two words in the fine script sit over an image without covering much of it.

## Things to know

- **Needs large sizes**: The lowercase is tiny and the lines are thin; in the specimen the small sample is hard to read.
- **One style**: Qwigley has only Regular 400.
- **Long strokes overlap**: Capitals and descenders reach well beyond their own width, so tight line spacing causes collisions.
