## About Kulim Park

Kulim Park is a sans serif typeface whose lowercase is tall, with wide-open apertures and strokes that hardly change in thickness. Round letters such as O, C and G are close to circles, and the bowls of b, d and p are generous, which gives lines of text an even, airy colour. According to the official description, the design came from a study of how the redevelopment of a local park could shape a typeface, with openness as the guiding idea. Dale Sattler, who designs type in New Zealand, leads the project under the Noponies name. The family has five weights, ExtraLight, Light, Regular, SemiBold and Bold, each with a matching italic, supplied as static files rather than as a variable font. Every font holds 423 glyphs for Latin and Latin Extended text. Kulim Park is licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.

## Where it works

- **Interface text**: The tall x-height and open apertures keep labels and form fields clear at small sizes.
- **Paragraphs with emphasis**: Regular with its italic, plus the SemiBold step, covers body copy, emphasis and subheads from one family.
- **Parks, councils and community projects**: A face shaped by a park study, with round and welcoming bowls, fits civic websites and local campaigns.
- **Light display lines**: ExtraLight 200 at large sizes shows off the circular forms in titles and hero text.

## Things to know

- **No Medium weight**: The weights step from Regular 400 straight to SemiBold 600. There is no 500, and nothing heavier than Bold 700.
- **Static files**: The package holds one font file per style, upright and italic. Kulim Park is not a variable font.
- **Latin scripts only**: Latin and Latin Extended are covered; no other writing system is included.
