## About K2D

K2D is a sans serif family covering the Thai and Latin scripts. Its Thai letters keep the small loops of traditional Thai writing while the overall drawing is modern, as the official description puts it. In the specimen the Latin is monoline, with rounds squared off at the sides in D, O and 0, a double-storey a, and stroke ends that bend slightly at the feet of A and K. The family comes as 16 static files: eight weights from Thin 100 to ExtraBold 800, each with an italic. It is not a variable font. The fonts hold 772 glyphs across Thai, Latin, Latin Extended and Vietnamese character sets. The record credits Cadson Demak; the font's name table lists Katatrad Aksorn Co., Ltd. as designer and Cadson Demak Co., Ltd. as manufacturer.

## Where it works

- **Thai and Latin interfaces**: Thai and Latin share the same eight weights, so menus and labels keep one visual weight when the language switches.
- **Bilingual brand systems**: Thin to ExtraBold with italics gives one family enough range for a logo line, headings and small print in two scripts.
- **Running text with emphasis**: Every weight has its own italic file, so emphasis in Regular or Light text does not rely on a slanted fake.
- **Vietnamese and Central European copy**: The Latin side includes the letters for Vietnamese, Polish, Czech and Turkish alongside Thai.

## Things to know

- **Sixteen static files, no variable font**: K2D ships as separate files per style. There is no variable version in the package.
- **The heaviest weight is ExtraBold 800**: The range runs from 100 to 800; there is no Black 900.
- **Looped Thai**: The Thai letters keep their traditional loops; K2D is not a loopless Thai design.
