## About Duru Sans

Duru Sans is a sans serif typeface with little difference between thick and thin strokes. Its official description places it in the low-contrast sans tradition of the twentieth century and presents it as a mix of humanist and modernist impulses, usable across a wide range of sizes. In the specimen the letters are fairly wide with open apertures, the lowercase a is double-storey, curves join the stems smoothly and the strokes are on the light side of regular, so a line looks airy. The family has one Regular style, with no bold or italic, and is not a variable font. Its 411 glyphs cover Latin and Latin Extended, including the letters for Turkish, Polish and Czech. Onur Yazıcıgil is the designer; the copyright belongs to Sorkin Type Co, and the name Duru is reserved under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.

## Where it works

- **Website headings and navigation**: Open apertures and even strokes keep menu items and section titles clear on screens.
- **Captions and short descriptions**: The light, wide letters stay legible in the few lines under an image or product.
- **Turkish-language pages**: Turkish letters such as ğ, ş and the dotless ı are in the character set, so Turkish copy needs no fallback font.
- **Clean presentation slides**: A plain, low-contrast sans leaves charts and pictures as the focus of a slide.

## Things to know

- **Regular only**: Duru Sans has a single weight. Bold text will be synthesised by the browser or application unless another family is used.
- **Reserved Font Name**: The license notice reserves the name Duru, so modified versions need a different name unless permission is given.
- **Latin scripts only**: Latin and Latin Extended are covered; Cyrillic and Greek are not.
