## What is TalkPersona?

TalkPersona is a web-based chatbot that presents its answers as video of a virtual face speaking with lip-synced, natural-sounding audio. A large language model generates the dialogue, and the user can give it context by defining the persona's role and the setting of the chat. The site lists role plays such as a counsellor or mentor, a friend, a therapist-style listener or a romantic partner persona. The chat is offered at no charge and without sign-up, which the site says keeps the user anonymous. Besides English, conversations with voice and video are available in Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish. The home page shows demo clips of several avatars, links to a feedback form and asks for donations to keep the service running. A separate menu item provides an instant speech translation tool.
